Team sports are better than individual sports.

I agree with this idea

Points:
1. Can strengthen teamwork
2. Can create new friends through similar interest
3. Helps physical health

I agree with this point, although team and individual sports each have their own benefits I still think that team sports are better than individual sports. Firstly, it can strengthen a person's teamwork by playing alongside them even if the person knows them or not. Working as a team requires a huge amount of cooperation skills so while playing the person learns how to work with a team. Teamwork and cooperation are important. Teamwork is essential and can help you in many ways whether it be work, school or with family.

In addition to that, Team sports are great for making new friends. Lots of people have made friends while playing sports the reason for that is because of their similar interest in the activity. Even after playing each other on a certain game they still managed to become friendly with each other.

Furthermore, Sports can help you with your physical health, sports activities can be beneficial to your body. These activities require you to move so although it might just be a hobby for some people it helps them in some ways. It keeps you in shape and strengthens your muscles and your bones. Stamina can also increase. Unlike other hobbies and activities that only require sitting down, sports are fun and are useful to you. It doesn't have to be every day that people play sports it can just be when you have free time.

I am aiming to improve my writing in the following 3 areas: Vocabulary, Spelling and Punctuation
I will do this by: (explain at least 3 things you will change in this piece of writing in order to improve in these categories) Changing a few of the easier words to a more difficult one, making sure my spelling is correct,

The South Island is better than the North Island.

I agree with this point

List of points:
Lot of places to go to
Cheaper
Lots of job offer

New Zealand has two main islands that are very well known, those two islands are the South Island and the North Island. Lots of people think that North Island is better than South Island. However, I believe the opposite, I believe that South Island is much greater than North Island for these reasons The South Island has plenty of places to go to, it is a lot cheaper, and there's lots of job opportunities and offers.

It is clear that the South Island is bigger than the North Island, therefore, there are a huge amount of places you can visit. Due to the famous places around South Island tourist visit places that are popular.

How has the food changed in the last 100 years and what have been the big reasons for this change?
There is more processed food than homemade food and it is easy to accumulate takeaways. Reasons for this are technology, the source of the foods, availability, preparation and cooking methods. In comparison, Maori hunts for their own food, while the settlers relied on the boat sailings (food), and now there is packaged food.

What was something you didn't know about changes in NZ foods that you learnt from the cards?
Something I didn't know before was the way the Maori hunts for food. They create their own traps and use them and whatever they get is what they eat.

What could you see happening to food in another 50 years time? Technology will improve more especially cooking methods, more processed and unhealthy foods will be continued to be made. Supplies will lessen.

What could you invent or change that would create a large impact on how we gather, produce or eat food. Only produce products that are important to our body to prevent sickness. Unhealthy food should only be made less.

We did a practical about fish and chips, this is perfect for the unit we are learning this term. The history of foods in New Zealand has changed in many ways having to be influenced by many cultures. This recipe was influenced by the British settlers.

At first, we cut the potatoes evenly, then we moved on into cutting the fish. After that, we use mayonnaise to coat on the fish then proceeded to cover it with panko crumbs.

Even though this recipe was inspired by British settlers we made a few changes to it. I found out that you can make it healthier by baking it, so it doesn't soak more fat.

blog comment example

Hey Miss Taylor, I like how you gave out alternatives to make this recipe healthier. When following your recipe it was very easy to understand and recreate. Are there other ways you can make this recipe healthier?

This term we have been looking at a cultural unit, so far I have learnt how different cultures influenced food in New Zealand. I know I have learnt this because we have been discussing in class about cultures that have influenced the dishes we made. Practicals we have made this term are sushi, pizza, fish and chips, scones and souvlaki. They originated from Japan, Italy, Britain and Greece but made it to New Zealand because of certain cultures that have been passed by immigrants. Also because of British settlers. Skills that I have learned from the practicals are different techniques and ways to cook food, like rendering the recipe to make it healthier, marinating, baking, etc. I will use this in the future by recreating the recipes at home to cook. Working with other people in my group has been exciting for me and it has helped me learn to work with people.

Year 10 Art Reflection Blog Post

Where is your focal point? Why did you choose it and decide to put it where it is?
Our focal point is the handshake and the titles. We chose this to enhance our pages, we decided to put the handshake in the middle. We put the titles on the top sides.

How are your shapes and lines leading you to your focal point?
I put circles around the handshake, and we put squares of pink to make leading lines leading to the titles.

Why did you choose the colours you did?
We chose pastel pink to make the overall mood of the magazine to be light.

Does your text reflect the hierarchy rule? How?
Yes, because we put the title as the biggest font and the sub-text somewhat smaller than the title.

How does your page link with the other members in your group?
We put similar colours to our page layout.

Based on the start of the term, where would you now rate yourself on the solo levels? Why?
I rate myself a 3 because I still need to improve how I relate my work to my research.

What ideas do you have for your orphist circle layers?
My idea is to make the circle so that the viewers' eyes are directed towards my bird.

What colours have you chosen for your layers and why?
I have chosen to do red for my bird and for the other layers I haven't decided yet.

Health

February 19th 2019

For this health unit, we are studying spiritual-wellbeing. Spiritual well-being is how you identify, what values you have and believe in. Every aspect of well-being is very important and taking care of it helps it a lot. I have learned about what others believe in and their values, I've also learned more about myself and how to take care of my well-being. We also took a test about our spiritual well-being, we had to choose keywords that describe us and we chose two of the most important ones.

Social Studies

February 11th 2019

In social studies, we were learning about Human Rights by reading about Iqbal. To make it short Iqbal was a boy who is a debt-slave. What I found interesting was how Pakistan don't have human rights and how easy it was to lose it. What was very interesting in general was Iqbal's story, at such a young age he had to work for people just because of a debt.

Our work is to create a SEEL paragraph with the help of Mrs Prebble who is reading the story to us, we have to link Iqbal's story in relation to human rights.
